مردم طبری یا مردم مازندران افرادی هستند که دارای نژادی قومی در مازندران و لهجه مازندرانی هستند. مردم مازندران از نسل قوم تپور هستند. طبق گفته‌های بطلمیوس، جغرافی‌دان یونانی، قبیله تپور در دوران باستان از قبایل ایرانی بودند و قبیله دیگر، دسته‌ای از مردمان کوچ‌نشین ایرانی تبار به نام قوم سکا بودند. در تاریخ ایران - کمبریج، به مردمی که در عصر فرهاد اول اشکانیان به قسمت‌های مرکزی دریای خزر تبعید شدند "تاپور" گفته می‌شد.

The Tabari people or people of Mazandaran are people who have a general ethnic background in Mazandaran and speak Mazandarani. People of Mazandaran are from the generation of the Tupur people. According to Ptolemy, a Greek geographer, the Tupur tribe was Iranian tribesmen of ancient times and one tribe of the Scythians. In the history of Iran Cambridge, the people have been called "Tapur", which in the era of Farhad 1st Parthian were displaced to the central parts of the Caspian Sea (present Mazandaran)
